Magazine is YHWH Nailgun’s first release on 4AD, expanding the New York band’s visceral, genre-defying sound into something even more skeletal and immediate. Across 10 tracks and just 11 minutes, the album balances chaos with precision, combining frantic guitars, bruising percussion, air-raid synths and Zack Borzone’s newly exposed vocals.
Following their acclaimed 2025 debut 45 Pounds, Magazine strips away abstraction and places Borzone’s surreal, religiously charged lyrics at the centre, filled with imagery of blood, serpents, God and the Devil. Rooted in improvisation and quick bursts of inspiration, the record feels confrontational, instinctive and completely uncompromising.
