Industrial Growth is the seventh album from Gordon Chapman-Fox's Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan, marking a shift from ambient soundscapes towards darker, more abrasive industrial electronics, distortion and dissonance. Inspired by the social and political climate, the album explores an organic form of growth that eats away at society rather than economic progress.
Much of the album developed from a suite commissioned by Roadburn Festival in 2024, refined through subsequent UK touring. Tracks move between industrial beats, oppressive machine sounds, noise and occasional melodic passages, culminating in the intense Industrial Unrest. The release also includes a Bandcamp bonus remix of This Machine by TVAM, with artwork by Michael Cooke inspired by his experiences growing up in Runcorn.
