“Call it psych, weird folk, whatever…their sound is haunting and cozy, yet sometimes dark as tar. Turn down the lights and immerse yourself in it” - Ian McCann, Record Collector magazine.
Swedish duo Us and Them return with The Lights and the Shadow, their fourth album for Fruits de Mer's Friends of the Fish label. Known for rich vocal harmonies, strong melodies and a blend of folk, psychedelia and baroque pop, Us and Them have been regular FdM contributors since their first release with the label in 2009, most recently with their sold-out An Introduction To... retrospective.
Following 2022's ...and I observed the blue sky, the duo's latest album explores the contrast between light and darkness—moving between pastoral, dreamlike moments and more atmospheric, introspective sounds.
