After a surprise return with a standalone single in February, legendary Scottish indie-pop band Trashcan Sinatras have announced their first new album in a decade. Written over several years through sessions in mountain cabins, late-night gatherings, and everyday life, the record features eleven new songs from the band's unchanged lineup: Frank Reader, Paul Livingston, John Douglas, Stephen Douglas, and Davy Hughes.
Formed in Irvine in 1986, the band became renowned for their literate, melodic songwriting, beginning with their acclaimed debut album Cake and the classic single Obscurity Knocks. Subsequent highlights included I've Seen Everything and its hit Hayfever, while the 2023 reissue of A Happy Pocket introduced the band to a new generation and returned them to the UK Albums Chart.
Marking forty years together, the new album continues the story of one of Britain's most beloved and enduring cult bands.
