Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Throwing Muses’ self-titled debut returns to vinyl. Originally released in 1986, it marked the band's place as the first American act signed to 4AD and played a significant role in shaping the label's identity. Combining unconventional time signatures, jagged arrangements and visceral emotion, the album helped pave the way for the American alternative rock scene of the 1990s and established a creative legacy that would extend through the Pixies, Belly, The Breeders and Kristin Hersh's solo work.
