Formed in Dublin in 1968, Thin Lizzy helped define hard rock with eight UK top 20 hits and eight albums reaching the charts, including three top 10s. Their pioneering twin lead guitar sound influenced bands like Def Leppard, Metallica, and Iron Maiden. After many lineup changes, they disbanded in 1983. Frontman Phil Lynott, the band’s insightful songwriter, died in 1986 at age 36. This 2-LP set, curated by Lizzy expert Nick Sharp, showcases the band’s best work across their career.
