Locked Down And Stripped Back features home-recorded, semi-acoustic versions of Wedding Present classics, plus two unreleased tracks: “You’re Just A Habit That I’m Trying To Break” (co-written by David Gedge and Jon Stewart) and “We Should Be Together” (originally by Sleeper, featuring Louise Wener on vocals). Created during COVID-19 lockdown with each member recording remotely, the album showcases the band’s adaptability. Inspired by the cancellation of Gedge’s Brighton festival, the project highlights stripped-back arrangements that reveal new facets of their songs, including a stark rendition of “Blonde” and fresh vocal contributions from band members and collaborators.
