The Janitors’ new album An Error Has Occurred reflects over two decades of Swedish psych-rock, fuelled by heartbreak, loss, and frustration with the world. Reviving pandemic-shelved songs and new tracks, the band recorded live over two days in a converted church. Side A features poppier, raw tracks with influences from Melvins, The Stooges, and The Heads, centered by the radiant love song “In A Bliss.” Side B dives into dronier, experimental soundscapes inspired by The Velvet Underground and Massive Attack, blending space-rock and jazz elements. The album channels anger and resilience, capturing the band’s creative lifeline amid turbulent times.
