Implosion is a crushing split album from The Bug (Kevin Martin) and Jah Schulz (Michael Fiedler), released on PRESSURE. Rooted in sound system culture but pushing into spectral dub, it blends meditation, menace, and merciless low-end, described by the artists as “brutally minimal” (Martin) and “raw” (Fiedler).
Across tracks like the drone-heavy “Dread,” the melancholic “Alien Virus,” and the hypnotic “Midnight,” the duo fuse dub, ambient isolationism, dub techno, and doom metal weight into an ice-cold, tension-soaked sound. Mastered by Stefan Betke (POLE), Implosion is slow, heavy, and deeply hypnotic—arguably one of the heaviest ambient dub albums yet, designed to fully immerse and overwhelm in bass.
