Man-Made is Teenage Fanclub’s 2005 album, released on their own PeMa label in Europe and Merge Records in North America. Their first album in five years, it finds the band staying true to their signature sound—still channelling the melodic legacies of Roger McGuinn and Alex Chilton with timeless charm. Highlights include the unusually upbeat “It’s All In My Mind,” the poignant folk-rock of “Cells” (a lyrical fight against illness), the glam-tinged “Born Under a Good Sign,” and nods to influences like The Raspberries and The Allman Brothers. The album also features guest violin from Battlefield Band’s John McCusker.
