Do Not Dare To Dream is Teenage Fanclub’s 13th album, named after Norman Blake’s song “I Do Not Dare To Dream.” It is a quietly determined record that reflects on an uncertain world while finding moments of hope and optimism through songs such as “Day In The Sun” and “Over And Over.”
Featuring the established line-up of Blake, Raymond McGinley, Euros Childs, Francis Macdonald, and David McGowan, the album captures a band working with a deep sense of connection and creative freedom. Childs’ organ, Mellotron, and synth textures add colour, while Macdonald and McGowan contribute further melodic depth.
Recorded over 14 days at Black Bay Studio on Great Bernera in the Outer Hebrides, Do Not Dare To Dream draws inspiration from its remote surroundings, incorporating vintage equipment and the atmosphere of a landscape shaped by ancient history.
