In October 2019, Sunn O))) recorded a special live session at BBC Maida Vale’s legendary John Peel studios for Mary Anne Hobbs' BBC6 show, following a sold-out UK tour. Capturing the evolved, radiant energy of their Life Metal and Pyroclasts era, the session features expansive versions of “Troubled Air” and “Pyroclasts.” These pieces embody the band's deep commitment to sonic exploration and collaborative freedom, with guest contributions from Anna Von Hausswolf on synths and vocals, enhancing the immersive, monolithic sound.
