Skids’ ambitious and experimental third album The Absolute Game, originally released in 1980, marked a significant evolution for the Dunfermline punk band. Featuring new bassist Russell Webb and produced by Mick Glossop, the album blended their powerful punk sound with synths and more progressive arrangements, spawning singles including ‘Circus Games’, ‘A Woman in Winter’ and ‘Goodbye Civilian’.
This 2LP reissue pairs The Absolute Game with Strength Through Joy, both remastered from the original source tapes by George Shilling. The artwork has been faithfully recreated, including the original lyric sheet and merchandise inserts reproduced on illustrated inner bags, with the albums pressed on translucent blue stone vinyl.
