Sigur Rós reissue their acclaimed 2005 album Takk on their label Krunk. Featuring the beloved singles Glósóli, Hoppípolla, and Sæglópur, the Platinum UK / Gold US record has been out of print for over a decade.
Recorded at the band’s Sundlaugin studio with producer Ken Thomas, Takk (“thank you” in Icelandic) captures Sigur Rós at their most uplifting and cinematic—fuelled by Hoppípolla’s iconic use in BBC’s Planet Earth—while retaining the band’s trademark drama, beauty, and otherworldly mix of Icelandic and Hopelandic vocals.
