The Will of Tongues is Sarah Davachi's most ambitious studio album to date, spanning over two hours and released as a triple vinyl set or double CD in hardback book-style packaging. The collection features five new works for historical pipe organs, three choral compositions, a series of microtonal ensemble "interludes," and an extended chamber piece for strings, organ, and tape.
Davachi is joined by an exceptional ensemble of musicians from North America and Europe, including Whitney Johnson, Eyvind Kang, Lucy Railton, Diapason, Phaedrus, and Chamber Choir Ireland.
Rooted in the minimalist tradition, the album explores deep listening through extended durations, subtle transformations, and carefully reduced musical materials. The Will of Tongues invites the listener into an immersive and challenging sonic experience, where sound itself becomes the focus of contemplation and discovery.
