Rilo Kiley emerged from a fierce drive to tell their own story, starting in late-90s Los Angeles with Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett’s shared songwriting passion. Joined by Pierre “Duke” de Reeder and later drummer Jason Boesel, the band found their sound recording their acclaimed 2002 album The Execution of All Things with Mike Mogis. This landmark indie rock record established Lewis as a generational songwriter, exploring themes of romance, trauma, and hope with raw emotional depth, earning its place as an essential classic.
