On their third album Suburbia Calling, RAT BOY return home to Essex, channelling stories of local life—dodgy geezers, nosy neighbours, and rowdy nights—into a raw, energetic portrait of suburban youth. Recorded partly in their self-built creative HQ near Chelmsford and produced by Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths), the album blends home demos and live takes into a vivid sonic collage. With influences from their surroundings and past global adventures, RAT BOY dive deep into the identity of where they’re from, crafting a record that’s both grounded and defiant.
