Queens of the Stone Age return with Perfecth, their ninth album and a bold exploration of love, lust, loss, foolishness and repair. Inspired by kintsugi—the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold—the album embraces the idea that what has been broken can become more beautiful through the act of putting it back together.
Recorded between New Orleans and Los Angeles, the nine tracks move between moody, menacing, gentle, strange and surreal, reflecting the band’s continued evolution and hard-won clarity. Each song feels like it comes from a different world, stitching together the many emotions and contradictions that surround love.
The title Perfecth plays on the idea that true perfection doesn’t exist. By deliberately breaking the word itself, Queens of the Stone Age celebrate the imperfect, damaged and beautifully repaired.
