As part of Pixies' 40th anniversary celebrations, Trompe le Monde (1991) returns in a newly remastered edition on black vinyl and CD, following the first official vinyl release of their 4AD B-Sides compilation. Engineer Kevin Vanbergen revisited the band's original analogue tapes to create new masters that reveal fresh depth and detail in this classic album.
The fourth Pixies album, Trompe le Monde marked the conclusion of a remarkable run of influential records that established the band as one of the defining acts of their generation. With producer Gil Norton once again at the helm, the album pushed their sound further, blending space rock, power pop, and Black Francis' surreal lyrics about UFOs and conspiracy theories.
Featuring 15 tracks packed into a thrilling 40-minute burst, Trompe le Monde brought the band's first chapter to a close before their reunion more than a decade later.
