Pink Floyd's tenth studio album, Animals, was originally released in January 1977. Recorded at the band’s own Britannia Row Studios in London during 1976 and early 1977, it was self-produced and marked a stylistic shift from their earlier work. A concept album, Animals reflects the social and political climate of mid-1970s Britain, transforming a collection of previously unrelated songs into a powerful narrative exploring moral and societal decay by likening human behaviour to that of animals.
