Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) releases Ugly Season, an album created as the soundtrack to choreographer Kate Wallich’s immersive dance piece The Sun Still Burns Here. The project, blending dance and music, was performed in several cities from 2019. Produced with longtime collaborator Blake Mills and partner Alan Wyffels, Ugly Season captures a sound of dancefloor euphoria, combining emotional depth with vibrant, immersive energy. The album is visually accompanied by a short film from artist Jacolby Satterwhite, known for his multidisciplinary work exhibited at MoMA and the Whitney.
