In 1961, Canadian pianist Oscar Peterson visited Villingen to record at Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer’s cutting-edge studio in the Black Forest. Over several visits, Peterson and his trio captured his virtuosic yet delicate sound, though the recordings weren’t released until 1968 due to contract restrictions. These sessions became the legendary Exclusively For My Friends series, showcasing Peterson’s musical brilliance in an intimate setting. Now, MPS reissues the entire series on vinyl with new AAA remastering by Grammy-nominated engineer Christoph Stickel.
