Mötley Crüe’s 1981 debut, Too Fast for Love, captures the band in raw, unpolished form. Recorded with a cheap, tinny sound, its fast rock ’n’ roll, sleazy attitude and songs about women and substance abuse reflect the lifestyle of the young L.A. band at the time. The guitars have a screeching, early-Kiss feel, while Vince Neil’s high-pitched vocals add to the rough-edged sound. Beneath it all, it’s the strength of the songs that made the Crüe stand out.
This 45th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set includes the original Leathür Records version of the album, featuring a different mix and tracklist, alongside the 1982 Elektra version. Also included are previously unreleased 1982 Perkins Palace live recordings, the band’s first studio session from March 1981, a demo session, reproduction of their original 7" single and demo cassette, and a 12" x 12" 100-page hardback photo book featuring rare and previously unseen photos and memorabilia from 1981. The set is completed with a replica early press kit, lyric book, poster and bumper sticker.
