In 1991, Acid Jazz founder Ed Piller and his roommate Bunny began recording an album in a small London studio. After eight months, they formed Mother Earth, blending hip hop beats, rock guitars, and soulful vocals into a lost early '90s classic. With contributions from Leftfield’s Paul Daley and the Brand New Heavies’ Simon Bartholomew, a solid lineup emerged to perform live. Their debut LP, featuring tracks like "Riot on 103rd Street" and "Stoned Woman," combined a blaxploitation soundtrack vibe with a contemporary sound, quickly becoming fan favourites on tour.
