Madlib pays heartfelt tribute to his late friend and collaborator J Dilla on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: Dil Cosby and Dil Withers Suite, with contributions from J. Rocc. Originally released as separate LPs in 2008, these two volumes bring together 42 soulful, floating instrumentals that lovingly bid farewell to Jay Dee.
Long out of print, both volumes are now pressed on 2LP for the first time ever, on metallic silver and gold vinyl, and housed in a gatefold jacket. A special reissue of a deeply felt project from one of hip hop’s most inventive producers.
