Mute marks the 25th anniversary of Looper’s 1999 debut Up A Tree, featuring unreleased tracks and alternative artwork by Karn David. Led by Stuart David (Belle and Sebastian co-founder) and recorded with bandmates Ronnie Black and Scott Twynholm, the album was praised for its gentle sound and honest lyrics, reaching #24 on UK indie charts. This edition includes new sleeve notes by Jenny Hayo and reflections from Stuart’s sister, Karla Black. Available on CD with remixes and as limited transparent green vinyl with a bonus flexi disc, it features the previously unreleased track “Brilliant Paper” by Ronnie Black and artist Sue Tompkins.
