Kurt Vile’s Speed, Sound, Lonely KV (ep) is a five-track collection recorded over four years at Nashville’s Butcher Shoppe, featuring covers of John Prine and Cowboy Jack Clement, plus two originals. Backed by a cast of Nashville greats—including Dave Roe, Bobby Wood, and Kenny Malone—Vile is joined by Dan Auerbach and Matt Sweeney. The EP’s centrepiece is a heartfelt duet with Vile’s hero, the late John Prine, on “How Lucky,” a moment Vile calls “the single most special musical moment in my life.”
