Label: Fruits de Mer
Jake Stephenson was a remarkably prolific and versatile musician, releasing music throughout the 1990s under numerous aliases, spanning ambient, dub, acid trance, drum'n'bass and more.
A friend and collaborator to many, Jake's work was shaped by a constant curiosity for new sounds and textures. Following his death from epilepsy in 2005, this retrospective brings together a selection of his more atmospheric and chilled recordings, compiled with the help of his brother Silas, long-time friend Swordfish (who mastered the collection), and musical collaborators Brian Trower and Matt Hillier.
A little different from the usual Fruits de Mer releases, this tribute is limited to 300 vinyl copies and 200 CD sets.
