Somewhere in Time is the sixth studio album by Iron Maiden, originally released on 29 September 1986. Recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau and the legendary Wisseloord Studio in Holland, it marked a slight departure for Maiden with the use of the then-groundbreaking guitar synthesizer, something rarely heard in metal at the time. Adrian Smith’s songs brought a fresh, more radio-friendly energy to the album, perfectly complementing Steve Harris’s compositions, including the instant live favourite “Heaven Can Wait” and the grandiose “Alexander the Great”.
