After wrapping their Marauder tour in Peru, Interpol used the 2020 lockdown to dive into a new album. Known for dark themes, the band surprised by focusing on hope and resilience, guided by producers Flood and Moulder. Frontman Paul Banks embraced a “counterbalancing” tone, celebrating the human spirit’s ability to recover amid tough times, keeping Interpol’s signature sound but with a more optimistic edge.
