Golden Earring’s self-titled 1970 album, also known as Wall Of Dolls, saw the Dutch rockers embark on a harder, rougher musical journey than on their previous work.
The album includes one of their biggest hits, Back Home (#1 in the Netherlands, #15 in Germany).
Golden Earring archivist and reissue producer Wouter Bessels requested an all-analogue cut at Artone Studio, with the original analogue master tape played on a Studer A80 and cut direct to lacquer on a Neumann VMS-70 lathe. This marks the first AAA cut of a classic Golden Earring album, with no additional equalisation or digital processing.
