Ghost Funk Orchestra’s 3rd album, A New Kind of Love, blends lush, cinematic instrumentals with sparse vocals, crafting a soundtrack for an imaginary film noir or romantic drama. Created by multi-instrumentalist Seth Applebaum during 2020’s Great Pause, it fuses mid-century exotica and 60s-70s pop orchestra styles with modern influences like Sharon Jones and Antibalas. The 12-track album explores themes of love in all its forms, delivered by Applebaum and his 10-piece band. Celebrated for its sophisticated production and timeless vibe, A New Kind of Love marks a new era for the group, who will tour to support the release.
