Beggars Banquet celebrates the 40th anniversary of Discover, Gene Loves Jezebel's breakthrough 1986 album, with a newly remastered and expanded double LP. Remastered by Henry Rudkins at AIR Studios and presented on double black vinyl with updated artwork, the reissue also includes Glad To Be Alive, the band's 1986 Nottingham live recording, available on vinyl again for the first time since its original release.
Originally formed by twin brothers Jay and Michael Aston in South Wales before relocating to London in 1981, Gene Loves Jezebel reached a turning point with Discover, an album that refined their blend of post-punk darkness and melodic rock. Featuring their signature hit "Desire (Come and Get It)", the record captures the band at the height of their creative momentum and the point where they broke through to an international audience.
