Fontaines D.C. return with their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, via XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, it follows 2024’s platinum-certified Romance and marks the band’s boldest departure yet from their guitar-driven roots.
Colder, stranger and more synthetic, the album explores pleasure and escapism against a backdrop of AI, environmental collapse and political violence. Synths, samples, marching drums and swooning strings replace much of the band's familiar guitar sound, creating an atmosphere where gratification and dread blur together. Described by Grian Chatten as a “catastrophic warning”, Dopamine Chamber sees Fontaines D.C. pushing themselves into unfamiliar territory—and into the future.
