Released in June 1971, Angel Delight was Fairport Convention’s first album as a four-piece after Richard Thompson’s departure. Written while living in a converted pub called The Angel, the album blends traditional tunes with originals, including the autobiographical title track and standout pieces like “The Cuckoo's Nest” and “The Bonny Black Hare.” It became the band’s only UK Top 10 album and captures a vivid snapshot of their lives at the time.
