On Phenomena 256, Sonic Boom expands the E.A.R. collective, blending post-psychedelic textures with warmer tones reminiscent of Mesmerised. Featuring returning collaborators Prevost and Kevin Martin, plus contributions from Pete Bassman (lap steel), Tom Prentice (electric viola), and others, the album balances drone, experimentation, and ambient soundscapes. Highlights include the echo-laden “Space Themes,” a nod to John Cage, and the layered suite “Sub Aqua/Tidal/Lunar.” The release features striking artwork by Anthony Ausgang.
