Everything But The Girl, formed in 1982 by Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, rose to fame with their blend of jazz, folk, pop, and electronic influences. Known for Thorn’s distinct vocals and Watt’s sharp production, they broke through in the U.S. with “Driving” and later found global success with “Missing” from their 1994 album Amplified Heart. The 1996 follow-up, Walking Wounded, embraced electronic music and became their first platinum album. After 1999’s Temperamental, the duo took a long hiatus, pursuing solo ventures. Now, they return with their first new studio album in over 20 years.
