Set in Genoa’s gritty poliziottesco world and starring Franco Nero, the soundtrack features the vibrant theme Città Viva performed by a jazz trio handpicked by Morricone, including Enrico Pieranunzi. With improvised solos—a rarity for Morricone—the album includes new artwork by Eric Adrian Lee and liner notes by Pieranunzi and Nero. A unique glimpse into Morricone’s brief but brilliant jazz experiment.
