Elton John’s 1972 album Honky Château is reissued for its 50th anniversary, featuring hits like Rocket Man, Honky Cat, and Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. Recorded at Château d’Hérouville, it marked Elton’s rise to global stardom.
The 2CD edition includes the original album, session outtakes, and eight live tracks from the 1972 Royal Festival Hall debut, plus a 40-page booklet with essays and interviews. The 2LP vinyl features the album and nine session demos with a booklet but excludes the live recordings.
