The Knife, The Needle is Elanor Moss’ debut full-length, born from a period of creative uncertainty, healing and reconnection with songwriting. After experimenting with her sound across two EPs, Moss returned to folk and contemporary folk, writing slowly and intimately with guitar and four-track demos while exploring family history, love and relationships.
Recorded in the Scottish Highlands with producer/engineer Pete Miles and a new ensemble, the album surrounds Moss’ delicate guitar and vulnerable vocals with subtle horns, strings, saxophone and double bass. Patient, melancholic and deeply poetic, The Knife, The Needle explores the ways love can heal, hurt and transform us.
