Stumpwork, Dry Cleaning’s follow-up to their acclaimed 2021 debut New Long Leg, was recorded over a longer period at Rockfield Studios with producer John Parish. The band returned with renewed confidence, exploring themes of family, politics, loss, and sensuality through a mix of alt-rock, jangle pop, and ambient sounds. Surrealist lyrics remain central, paired with a richer, more experimental sound. The album’s artwork, created by Rottingdean Bazaar and Annie Collinge, continues the band’s unique visual style, marking Stumpwork as an ambitious, intelligent work from one of the UK’s most exciting acts.
