In 2023, Death Cult reunited for several shows. To celebrate The Cult’s 40th anniversary in 2024, Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy reissued the Death Cult collection Ghost Dance as Paradise Now on clear vinyl with black and white splatter. Southern Death Cult formed in 1981, releasing one posthumous album before evolving into Death Cult and then The Cult in 1984. The band has sold over four million albums, earning multiple gold and platinum awards. Known as “shamanic goths,” they gained fame with 1985’s Love (featuring “She Sells Sanctuary”) and 1987’s Electric. Their latest album, Under the Midnight Sun, continues to showcase their enduring rock passion.
