A collaboration between Crystal Jacqueline, members of The Honey Pot Collective and writer David Greygoose, Smoke Road is a richly crafted journey through folk storytelling, folklore and the natural world. Building on Jacqueline's A Prayer For The Birds, the album combines Greygoose's evocative writing with beautifully arranged compositions and contributions from Mark McDowell, Leo O'Kelly, Rob Gould, Mordecai Smyth and Jay Tausig.
Drawing inspiration from tales of love, adventure, nature and the unseen world, songs including Barbara Ann, Dreamwalkers, Jenny Many Names, The Burning and Green Man create a vivid, imaginative landscape. Jacqueline's expressive vocals—supported by harmonies, duets and layered arrangements—bring these stories to life, while the musicianship throughout adds depth and atmosphere. A captivating blend of folk, psychedelia and storytelling, Smoke Road is a beautifully realised album that rewards repeated listening.
