Booker T. and the MGs, Stax Records' iconic house band, released their debut album in 1962 following the success of their hit single "Green Onions." Originally recorded during a casual session for rock singer Billy Lee Riley, the track became one of the most popular instrumental songs ever. The original lineup featured Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper, Lewie Steinberg (bass), and Al Jackson Jr. (drums). The 60th Anniversary Edition of Green Onions is pressed on 180-gram green translucent vinyl, accompanied by a 4-page insert with band photos, Stax ephemera, and new liner notes by David Ritz.
