Formed by ex-Skids guitarist Stuart Adamson in 1981, Big Country fused punk, new wave, and Celtic-inspired rock, with guitar work that mimicked traditional Scottish instruments. Their 1984 album Steeltown, a politically charged critique of industrial decline inspired by Corby, became their only UK No.1 and remains influential, notably on bands like Manic Street Preachers. This reissue replicates the original Mercury release with a gatefold sleeve and high-quality 180g vinyl.
