The Power Cosmic is the band’s fourth studio album, released in 1999 and their first for Nuclear Blast. Continuing their epic symphonic black metal sound, the album takes its title from the cosmic superpowers of Marvel Comics characters Galactus and the Silver Surfer, reflecting lyricist and vocalist Byron Roberts’ love of the Marvel universe.
