ABKCO reissues the first two albums by Michigan garage-rock pioneers ? and The Mysterians: 96 Tears (1966) and Action (1967). Formed in 1962 by Mexican-American children of migrant farmworkers, the band gained fame with lead singer Rudy Martinez (aka Question Mark). Their debut single, “96 Tears,” featuring Frank Rodriguez’s iconic organ, topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966. The album 96 Tears followed, including hits like “I Need Somebody” and a cover of T-Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday,” peaking at #66.
