Originally released in 2014, Hours Were the Birds is Adrianne Lenker’s debut solo album, recorded in her hometown of Minneapolis with producer Rob Oesterlin. Featuring ten songs built around acoustic guitar, the album captures the intimate, stripped-back feel of a live solo performance, with Lenker’s evocative songwriting and personal storytelling at its forefront, predating her wider recognition with Big Thief.
