Led by saxophonist Rob Mitchell, Abstract Orchestra fuse classic jazz big band instrumentation with modern hip-hop, reimagining works by J Dilla and, on Madvillain Vol. 1, the collaboration of MF Doom and Madlib. Featuring top UK jazz musicians who’ve played with Jamiroquai, Amy Winehouse, and John Legend, the band records live in the studio, blending rich orchestral arrangements with jazz-inspired reinterpretations of iconic hip-hop tracks.
