Originally released in 1972, Roforofo Fight marked Fela Kuti’s rise as a voice for West Africa’s urban poor, students, and political dissenters. Singing in Broken English with a pan-Africanist message, Fela exposed corruption and oppression across Anglophone Africa. The 50th-anniversary reissue comes on double yellow and green vinyl and includes the singles “Shenshema” and “Ariya” on vinyl for the first time.
